The fingerprint device now lives in your team's pocket

Dawami is an attendance app that runs on the employee's own phone. It recognises their face or fingerprint, checks they are at the work site, sends leave and short-departure requests to their manager, and gives management a live view of attendance across every site.

The problem it started from

Staff across dozens of sites, and a fingerprint device that can't move

When employees are spread between a head office, regional directorates and centres in different governorates, the classic fingerprint device becomes a problem of its own: one device per site, wiring and maintenance, paper leave forms, and nobody knows what happened until the end of the month.

Fixed, costly devices

A device at every point, with wiring and upkeep, and no use for staff working outside the office.

Leave on paper

A form is written, signed and carried around, then the balance is worked out by hand.

No live view

Managers learn about lateness and absence when the monthly sheets arrive.

Limited reports, no integration

Device data doesn't flow easily into HR and payroll.

How it works

Three views, each person sees what they need

Employee app

  • Check in and out by face or fingerprint
  • Request leave or a short departure
  • Leave and departure balances always visible
  • Reminders when they forget

Manager app

  • The team's attendance, live
  • Approve or reject leave and departures
  • Team reports on the phone

Dashboard

  • Directorates, departments and geographic sites
  • Unlimited shifts; move staff between shifts and sites
  • More than one site per employee
  • Roles and permissions

Check-ins that are hard to fake

The right person, in the right place, at the right time

Every check-in passes several checks before it is accepted, and its location appears on the dashboard map.

  • Live face scanConfirms a real person is in front of the camera, not a photo on another phone.
  • Work-site boundaryCheck-ins are accepted inside the defined site and flagged when made outside it.
  • The employee's own phoneEach account is tied to one device, so nobody checks in for a colleague.
  • Works offlineStores the check-in and sends it when the connection returns.
  • Arabic and EnglishFull interface in both languages for staff and managers.

Calculations that do themselves

Month end without a calculator

BalancesLeave and departure balances are worked out automatically for each employee.
LatenessCalculated and deducted from annual leave according to policy; management can accept or cancel the penalty.
OvertimeCalculated against each employee's shift.
ReportsAttendance, absence, lateness, leave, departures, overtime, and check-ins outside the directorate.

Where it started

Born at Jordan's Ministry of Youth

Dawami began as a solution for Jordan's Ministry of Youth, whose staff work across the ministry headquarters, its directorates and youth centres in more than one governorate. We rolled it out in phases, and each phase added something we learned in the field.

  1. Staff forgot to check inWe added sound and visual reminders on the phone.
  2. Phones without Google servicesWe published a version on Huawei AppGallery.
  3. Weak internet at some sitesAn offline mode with a notice to the employee.
  4. Location not refreshing on some phonesA map of each check-in on the dashboard.
  5. Forgotten check-outsThe day closes automatically at midnight.

Questions

Before you request a demo

Does Dawami need a fingerprint device at each site?

No. Employees check in from their own phone with their face or fingerprint, and the app confirms they are inside the work site's boundary. No devices, wiring or maintenance per site.

How does it prevent check-in fraud?

A live face scan rejects photos, each account is tied to the employee's own phone, and the location is checked against the site. Managers also see where each check-in happened on a map.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. It records the check-in offline and sends it when the connection returns, and tells the employee it is doing so.

Can it connect to other systems?

Yes. It can connect to HR and payroll systems so leave balances, lateness and overtime move across without manual entry.
